The YJForum is an online learning community for staff of the Garda Youth Diversion Projects (GYDPs), affiliated members of An Garda Síochána, and members of (a) Young Persons Probation Projects (b) Probation Officers with involvement in youth justice work (c) key Irish and international academics involved in youth justice work, and (d) members from Youth Justice Northern Ireland.

The YJForum was developed in 2009 as part of an improvement programme for Garda Youth Diversion Projects (GYDPs)implemented as a consequence of the youth justice report  "Designing effective local responses to youth crime". This report identified 3 specific improvement measures for projects, the alignment of project activities with local crime patterns, the development of new service designs with 5 trial sites, and the improvement of knowledge over all the Garda Youth Diversion Projects.
