Workshops
National Youth Justice Strategy High Level Goals - Making the Difference
The workshops will follow on from the mini-presentations we will hear after lunch. Each workshop will be facilitated by members of the IYJS and will focus on the following questions;
- "Does diversion work?"
- "Are Community Sanctions being used effectively?"
- "Does detention provide effective interventions for young offenders?"
- "How can a model of 'through-care' be promoted for children in the criminal justice system?"
- " How can we work together to ensure that children who offend receive the best outcome possible?"
The discussions and outcomes of the workshops will provide us with a clear idea of how effective the objectives of the Strategy have been in ensuring the best outcomes for children and how future youth justice policy should be developed.
The IYJS will produce a Conference Report which will outline the key findings and conclusions reached by workshop participants and will be available on our website thereafter.
To ensure a fair organisational representation at the workshops we will pre-assign places to each of the workshops. You will receive a colour coded badge on registration in this regard.
